Fera Pets Review: An Honest Look at Its Dog & Cat Supplements

Our Pets Are Part of the Wellness Equation

If you live with a dog and a cat, you quickly learn that “wellness” is not just a human concept. It is a household concept.

My dog is part walking buddy, part comic relief, and part reminder that getting outside is usually a good idea. My cat contributes a completely different kind of companionship, including the occasional judgmental stare when dinner is three minutes late. They are family, and naturally I want them to stay healthy for as long as possible.

That is why I pay attention to pet wellness brands that take ingredients seriously without making everything feel impossibly complicated.

Fera Pets caught my attention because it approaches supplements through a combination of veterinary expertise, ingredient transparency, and what the company describes as an integration of Eastern and Western approaches to pet care.

What Is Fera Pets?

Fera Pets was founded in 2017 by veterinarian Dr. Michelle Dulake and pet supply expert Emily Hsu. The company says its goal is to create clean, effective supplements for dogs and cats, informed by veterinary experience and a holistic view of animal wellness.

The product line covers a wide range of everyday concerns, including digestion, joint support, skin and coat health, immune support, calming, kidney and bladder support, dental support, and general nutrition.

That breadth is useful because pet wellness isn't one-size-fits-all. A young, active dog has different needs from an aging dog, while cats can have their own very specific nutritional and digestive quirks.

Instead of treating supplements as one giant category, Fera organizes its products by the kind of support a pet parent may actually be looking for.

The Veterinary-Created Difference

One of the things I appreciate most about Fera is that the company's story starts with a veterinarian who was looking for better options for her own patients.

Dr. Dulake is a practicing veterinarian and veterinary acupuncturist, and Fera says its approach combines Western veterinary knowledge with selected Eastern philosophies. That doesn't mean every pet needs a supplement or that supplements replace veterinary care. It simply reflects a broader way of thinking about health.

Fera also has a veterinary advisory board that includes specialists in areas such as internal medicine, dermatology, nutrition, and senior-dog care.

For me, that adds an important layer of credibility to a category that can sometimes feel crowded with vague promises.

Transparency Is a Big Deal

The pet supplement aisle can be overwhelming. There are beautiful labels, impressive-sounding ingredients, and plenty of claims. What I want to know is what is actually in the container and whether the company is willing to show its work.

Fera says its formulas are batch tested by third-party laboratories for potency and purity. The company provides a Certificate of Analysis lookup tool so customers can check results using a product's lot code.

That kind of transparency matters.

It also says its products are veterinarian created, sustainably sourced, and made with clean ingredients, with several products carrying NASC certification. Those details don't mean every product is right for every animal, but they give a pet parent more information with which to make a decision.

Some Standout Products

Fera's current best sellers include its USDA Organic Probiotics with Prebiotics, Hip + Joint Support Chews for dogs, Organic Mushroom Blend for Immune Support, and Pumpkin Plus Fiber Support.

I particularly like the practical formats. Powders can be mixed into food, while soft chews make sense for dogs that think everything should be a treat.

The company also offers products for cats, including digestive, kidney and bladder, immune, skin and coat, and calming support.

As always, supplements are exactly that—supplemental. If an animal has a health condition, takes medication, or has unusual symptoms, I would talk to a veterinarian before adding anything new. The goal is better everyday care, not replacing professional care.

Why Fera Fits a Modern Wellness Lifestyle

There is a larger idea here that I think resonates with a lot of us: wellness is becoming less about reacting to problems and more about being thoughtful about the small things we do every day.

That applies to people and pets.

A balanced diet, regular movement, good sleep, preventative care, mental stimulation, and a safe environment all matter. For some animals, a carefully chosen supplement may be one small piece of that picture.

Fera Pets is appealing because it seems to understand that pet parents want the same things for their animals that they want for themselves: quality ingredients, evidence-informed decisions, convenience, and transparency.

And there is one more benefit that isn't printed on any label: peace of mind.

When you are responsible for another living creature, having a trusted wellness routine can make everyday care feel a little easier.
