Payday Social vs. Amelia Chores: Which App Is Better for Earning Money?

Recently, I started looking for ways to earn money from home because, let’s be real, it’s 2026, and who actually needs to leave the house to get paid with all the apps and technology out there? I was doom-scrolling one evening when I came across a TikTok about earning money just by doing the chores you’re already doing.

It’s Called Payday Social — Paid to Create

Immediately, I thought it must be too good to be true, but I downloaded the app anyway to see what it was all about. Shockingly, I discovered a legit “easy money” side hustle that, on the surface, didn’t appear to be scammy at all!

The Backstory

As I dug a little deeper, I discovered that getting paid to do chores was just one of the offerings they had available. It turns out these guys are app developers out of Atlanta who initially started a company to pay people to promote the apps they created, like Dishly, Cub, Dedicated Song, Shapes, NGL, Fig, Fig Food Scanner, Let'sGo, Zest Couples, and Blueprint for Creators—which is a genius way to save TikTok and Instagram ideas, analyze performance, and automatically rewrite video transcripts into scripts. To check out any of these apps, click here: Payday Social.

Mark Cuban actually backs these developers, Interlock Studios, and the founders Bailey Grady and Shep Ogden were named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2023 for Social Media as co-founders of Offbeat Media Group.

This was just the type of progressive, legit, and creative company I didn’t realize I was looking for! Shep and Bailey’s LinkedIn profiles included a massive client list, along with other companies they’ve built and a list of heavy hitters they’ve worked with that would honestly get anyone’s attention.

Get Paid to Do Chores? Be Serious!

So, back to the part about earning money just by doing the chores you’re already doing.

In addition to Payday Social, the guys from Interlock also developed the app Amelia: Get Paid to Do Chores, which is “a mobile app that pays US residents to record videos of themselves completing routine household tasks in their own homes.”

Why? Great question.

The data collected is used to train robots to fulfill the intense demand for domestic assistance and caregiving. It turns out that robots using today’s advanced AI can learn best by “watching” the task.

That’s why I’m comparing Payday Social and Amelia Chores. I wanted to tell people about the easy-money opportunities available simply by downloading apps. They’re both task-based opportunities, but they work in totally different ways. One is about creating short app-promo content; the other is about earning money by recording everyday tasks you already do at home.

So, What Is Payday Social Really About?

Payday Social is built around campaigns and a performance-based approach. Creators make short videos designed to promote apps. Interlock offers a highly refined, step-by-step approach to creating content and posting—a done-for-you approach to social marketing.

How Will You Learn This Magic?

First, through their Creator Academy, they actually pay you to get trained before you even record your first video.

Second, they walk you through all the tips and tricks to go viral because their success is directly tied to your success.

Third, they offer ongoing support and a vibrant community of creators helping each other through their Discord channel.

But I’m Not a Celebrity!

After spending a few hours learning what they were teaching, I figured out why my previous attempt to launch a business through Instagram was likely shadow-banned. It actually made perfect sense, and I can’t believe they actually showed me—a normal girl, not an influencer—how to succeed on these platforms with any kind of content.

So yes, please go download it and check them out. I can’t recommend them enough:

Payday Social Is All About Promoting Campaigns

Personally, I love that you don’t have to be a celebrity. You don’t need to pretend your life is more exciting than it is. The goal is to create content that fits the campaign and follows the platform’s guidance, then let the platform’s structure do the heavy lifting when it comes to the playbook and performance.

How Do You Get Paid?

Creators get paid through options like PayPal or direct deposit. They also have a leaderboard tab where you can see who’s scoring wins each week.

I see about a grand across the board for weekly earnings, and yearly top earners have made $50K so far YTD. And no, they're definitely not influencers—just regular people who uses their playbook and posts consistently.

Bailey Grady mentioned they’ve paid out $10 million over the past several years. That’s just wild, but I love it!

Tell Me More About the Chores!

Then there’s Amelia Chores, and this is where the comparison gets genuinely interesting—because Amelia Chores doesn’t ask you to post content at all.

Instead, you use an app to record your POV while doing tasks like cleaning the kitchen, baking, taking care of pets, or doing yardwork. There are more than 70 different tasks they list for you to record—even brewing coffee!

The technology is so easy. If you can use an iPhone, you can manage this. You just pick a task, hit record, and go.

The Bottom Line

Again, the point here is training robots, so you simply clean the way you normally do and let them learn from the data.

Shep and Bailey really hit a home run with this one because they manage the contractors through a Discord channel and provide full support day and night. I don’t even know when these guys sleep because they’re always there answering questions, whether it’s about rules, technology, or payments. And they’re always answering with kindness and empathy. They also offer an upgraded coaching portal called the Inner Circle, where you can unlock higher earnings, track posts and get personal 1-on-1 support.

They encourage filming 10 hours a week, which scores about $500 a month, just for wearing your phone on a head strap that they reimburse you for. The hourly wage starts at $10.

I am a huge advocate for helping give more freedom through income to seniors and people with limited mobility or those living on fixed incomes, and this is big because you don’t even have to do anything differently from your normal routine.

I can’t say enough good things about the Amelia Chores app. If you’re interested, here’s my link:

So, Which One Is for You?

If you’re comfortable with content creation and want training and structure, Payday Social may be your lane. If you’d rather stay offline and earn by documenting everyday work, Amelia Chores may fit more naturally.

If you want to start, I’d suggest choosing the one that matches your energy right now—and then just taking action.

With Amelia, they host a live onboarding call that you can watch from your phone and let them hand-hold you through the process so you’re crystal clear before you begin.

With Payday Social, you pick a campaign, get paid based on views, and gain access to the Creator Academy. Both offer support through their Discord community.

I can’t spell it out any clearer than that. I fully give both of these my stamp of legit approval.
